Privacy Policy

Last updated: 27 October 2026

In short: we collect only what is needed to run a marriage-introduction service. Your mobile number and contact details stay private until both families accept. We do not sell your information and we show no advertising. We use Google Analytics to count which screens are used, without any personal details.

This policy explains what Manihar Rishta ("we") collects, why, who sees it, and your choices. It goes with the Terms of Use and the Refund Policy. We follow the Indian laws on personal data, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

1. What we collect

About you, the parent or guardian:

  • your mobile number (used to sign in with a one-time code), your name and your relationship to the candidate;
  • your agreement to our terms, and the date you gave it.

About the candidate, given by you:

  • full name, gender, date of birth, height, marital status, languages, and where the candidate lives (state, district, city) and hometown;
  • education, work, employer and a yearly income range (optional);
  • family details and what you are looking for;
  • optional answers on the Complete profile screen (for example caste or biradari, Namaz and Quran knowledge, diet, children, and about the family);
  • a photograph, if you add one, and who may see it.

Some of this is sensitive, such as marital status, income and religious practice. You give it only because you choose to, and every optional question can be left blank.

Created when you use the app: interests sent and received, matches, chat messages, reports and blocks, your payment records (Razorpay payment and order numbers, plan, amount and date), and basic technical data our hosting needs to run the service.

What we do not collect: card, UPI or bank details. These go straight to Razorpay. We show no advertising.

Usage counts: we use Google Analytics to record which screens are opened and a random device number set by Google. We clean the page address first, so no candidate ID, name, phone number or profile detail is sent. Google signals and ad personalisation are off. This is used only to see how the app is used and to improve it. To opt out, write to us at the email below, or block analytics in your browser.

2. Why we use it

  • to create and show the candidate's profile to other families, as described below;
  • to let families search, send interests, match and chat;
  • to verify profiles, stop fake or abusive profiles, and act on reports;
  • to take and record payments, give receipts, and handle refunds;
  • to sign you in securely, and to reply to your questions and complaints;
  • to count which screens are used so we can improve the app;
  • to meet our legal duties.

3. Who sees what

  • Families with an active membership can see the candidate's name, approximate age (birth year only, never the full date of birth), height, education, work, city and the optional answers you give.
  • After both families accept an interest, the other family can also see your guardian's name and mobile number, and can chat with you. Employer details stay hidden unless you choose to share them.
  • Photograph: you choose whether it is private, shown only to matched families, or shown to families with an active membership. It never appears on search cards.
  • You can hide a profile or block a family at any time using Report or block.
  • The founder and a small number of people who run the service can see profile and account details when needed to check profiles, handle reports, and solve problems.

4. Who else receives it

We use these services to run Manihar Rishta. They handle data for us and may not use it for their own purposes:

  • Google Firebase and Google Cloud, for sign-in (including sending the SMS code and checking that you are not a robot), the database, photo storage and hosting. Our data is stored in Mumbai, India.
  • Google Analytics, for the usage counts described above.
  • Razorpay, for payments. Razorpay has its own privacy policy for the payment details you give it.

We do not sell or rent your information. We may share it with the police or a court if the law requires, or to protect someone from harm.

5. How long we keep it

  • Your profile and chats stay while your account is active.
  • When you ask us to delete your account, we remove the profile, photograph, chats, interests and matches from the app.
  • We keep payment records for as long as the law requires for accounts and tax.
  • We may keep a short record of reports and removals to stop the same person coming back.

6. Your rights

You can ask us to:

  • show you the information we hold about you;
  • correct information that is wrong or out of date (you can also edit many answers in the app);
  • delete your account and information;
  • withdraw your consent, which may end the service for you; and
  • register a complaint, which you can also take to the Data Protection Board of India if you are not satisfied.

Write to us at the email below from your registered mobile contact. We reply within 24 hours and aim to finish the request within 30 days.

7. Keeping it safe

  • Profiles, interests, matches and chat can only be changed by our servers. The app itself cannot change them.
  • Private details are kept apart from the public part of the profile, and photographs are not stored in an open location.
  • Sign-in is by a one-time code, so please keep your phone safe and never share the code.
  • No system is perfectly safe. If we learn of a data breach that affects you, we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.

8. Cookies and similar storage

The app keeps a sign-in session and a few settings in your browser, such as when you last saw the "add to home screen" prompt. Google Analytics also stores a random device number so it can count visits. We use no advertising cookies. You can remove the number by clearing this site's data in your browser.

9. Candidates and children

Candidates must be at least 18. Accounts are for parents and guardians only. If you think a profile belongs to someone under 18, please tell us and we will remove it.

10. Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change is important, we will tell you in the app.

11. Contact and grievances

Questions, requests and complaints about your information: haroon.mohad@gmail.com. Please include your registered mobile number.
